Future Plans


With this post I'd like to address the future plans for Clocking Out.

Origin and Future

This game started as a project for my game design class. The whole class split into groups and worked on their part of the game. I am posting this announcement April 25th 2022. We end the school year May 25th 2020. I plan to see this game through until the end. Some others will too. This will come with a price for me, currently the game is set in 2017 Unity. I plan to rewrite all the sloppy code from what I've learned and put it into the 2022 Unity. 

What does this mean?

This means that until the end of the year, the game will actually slow down in development. This is because I don't want to give myself extra work that will soon just be deleted. I am going to be spending these next few weeks researching ways to improve the work. I want to make a game I am truly proud of, and shooting colored pills in these doom like boxes is nothing I am proud of.

What will the final update before the "Great Rewrite" Be?

Currently I'm finishing up the 1.3 Beta. It adds health and a credits screen and many bug fixes and small changes. I'd like to get this version cleaned up and ready to be posted soonish. I mainly want to focus on the credits screen because of those who I work with deserve credit. It's really important to me that this isn't "My game" it is Our Game.
